What is Kiteboarding?
Kiteboarding or kitesurfing is likened to snowboarding or skateboarding on water, only using a kite powered strictly by the wind as your “engine” or power source. Many people use the words kiteboarding, kite boarding, kite-boarding, kitesurfing, kite surfing and kite-surfing interchangeably. We generally refer to kiteboarding as flat water riding, and kitesurfing as ocean wave riding.
Why Should I Take Kiteboarding Lessons?
First and foremost, Safety for yourself and the public. The fact of being connected to something controlled by Mother Nature is inherently risky. The powerful kites used in kiteboarding are very dangerous in the hands of a person lacking proper instruction. Most people don't realize just how much power a kite can generate. Many potential kiters, who try to teach themselves or learn from friends, end up quitting due to lack of thorough instruction plus adequate safety, and there’s a better chance you will stick with the sport. Kiteboarding lessons may seem expensive at first, but kites and their accompanying gear cost even more. Beginner kiters can innocently thrash the gear they learn on, so why not use the schools instead of your own? Who is 405KITE?
I am an avid kiteboarder who's intent is to safely share the 'stoke' and knowledge of this incredible sport with those wishing to learn. I have a regular full time job, and I give lessons on a part-time basis usually on evenings and weekends when the wind is appropriate.
405KITE, LLC lessons are lead by the only PASA certified instructor in Oklahoma City, whose ultimate goal is to help create independent and safe kiteboarders. An experienced instructor will have knowledge, patience, and an ability to communicate. Each of these is essential to a safe learning environment.

What is PASA?
PASA, Professional Air Sports Association, is a nonprofit member driven association that is dedicated to promoting and preserving the Kiteboarding Industry. Kiteboarding instructors can be easy to find, but a great one, well, they can be much harder to find. This is why PASA started their instructor certification program. They wanted to take the guess work out of choosing a Kiteboarding instructor, and have developed a certification system and extensive training system that produces quality certified instructors.

Certification of recreational kiteboarders establishes a measurable level of skills obtained under the PASA guidelines.
Each certification level means the kiteboarder has accomplished the skills criteria for that particular level.
